There are many different types of home businesses that can be set up. Although it is convenient to work from home it doesn't always mean that the home is appropriate for the type of business being considered. Stay at home Mom's are often looking for ways that they can earn income from home. One business adventure with some good potential is running a home day care business. It makes perfect sense when Mom is at home looking after her own young ones. Why not add a few more to the group and make some money while doing it. The thing to keep in mind is that each State is different when it comes to home day care businesses. The rules can be very stringent. However, the biggest challenge comes with familiarizing oneself with them.  The following are a few examples of how one can enter into this business.
Following the Regulations
Anyone that is taking on the responsibility of running a home daycare is going to have to follow the rules and regulations as they pertain to the state. There will be licensing requirements. Also, there will be home inspections.
Tennessee
This is a state that provides some great opportunities to open a home day center. Some of the options are Large Family Day Care Homes. Those who want to become involved in this venture can take in between 8 to 12 children. Plus they can add three school age children. The thing to keep in mind is that the regulations will dictate how many children are allowed per each provider. In this case it will depend on the age of the children. But, for example if the children attending are 3+ years of age then one provider can handle 12 children. The provider's only children will count among the twelve allowed if they under the age of nine. This size of daycare may be a little too much to handle. Depending on the size of the home. In that case there is an option for a small child care home which allows between five to seven children.
The Right Property
No matter whether one is looking after five children or twelve they need to be cared for in a proper setting. This mean a home with plenty of space both indoors and out. Ideally having a location that is away from heavily trafficked areas provides a safer environment. If there is plenty of outdoor space it acts as an added attraction for parents that are looking for a good setting to leave their children in during the day. They know they are going to get to enjoy the outdoor space. But in a safe manner.
The Advantages
The advantages of operating a home daycare business are many. For one, in many cases it is not necessary to have commercial property. Another advantage is that many of the expenses may create an opportunity for write offs when it comes to taxes. Then there is the biggest bonus of all. Which is for a parent to be able to stay at home with their own children. While at the same time earning some extra income. Like this article?
