Region & Climate Grant County is known for its mild, four-season climate with winter daytime temperatures averaging in the mid-60s and nighttime lows in the 20s. Summer daytime temperatures average in the upper 90s with lows in the mid 60s. The elevation of the ranch varies between 5,973 and 6,600 feet. History San Lorenzo is on the east bank of the Mimbres River. This small community is said to have been founded in 1714 by Gov. Juan Ignacio Flores Mogollon. Later it was affiliated with Fort Webster, but when the fort departed in 1853, the town was abandoned. It was resettled in 1869 by persons from Pinos Altos. Location This ranch is located near San Lorenzo approximately 30 miles east of Silver City.
