Whether you’re an expert or a novice, there’s nothing quite like hunting on your own land. If you’re looking for hunting properties in the Prairie State here are some important characteristics to keep an eye out for.

    The Land of Lincoln is chock-full of good hunting properties, but if you’re going to take the plunge and make an investment by buying land, you should be sure it’s the best one possible. Read on to see my recommendations for great hunting properties.

    6. Clear Road Network: There are a few reasons road networks are important. First, they allow you to move easily about the property so that you can maintain food plots and keep an eye on stand sites for maintenance or upgrades. Being able to drive through the property can also keep your scent from penetrating areas where you intend to hunt.
    7. Recent Information: When buying land for hunting buying from an owner who has trail cameras or harvest photos and reports can help you determine the quality of the game that calls that property home.
