Mountain Star Ranch

Mountain Star Ranch near Guffey is the quintessential Colorado mountain ranch. The centerpiece is a secluded, five-bedroom, 6,500± square foot log home in a beautiful Rocky Mountain valley. The private mile-long drive winds through aspen and ponderosa pines and is secured by two electronic gates. This stunning log home is built of Montana pine logs, which enclose a living area with large open spaces, vaulted ceilings, soaring floor-to-ceiling windows, stained glass, and an inside pond and waterfall.

An architecturally unique covered walkway connects the house with the barn, once featured in Horse Connection Magazine as one of the best private horse barns in the country. A huge, attached, tall-ceiling garage can hold multiple vehicles and motorized toys. A separate detached garage is a great place to store more vehicles or a ranch tractor. Down the hill from the house is a workshop that can be used for any endeavor the new owner wishes.

Mountain Star Ranch lies in the eighteen-parcel ranch Aspen Mountain Ranch subdivision, of which Mountain Star comprises seven parcels. The ranch borders approximately 16,000± contiguous acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land and is one of only two ranches in Aspen Mountain to have vehicular access to this land. The public must access this BLM acreage via foot or horseback over very rugged terrain. Elk and mule deer hunting is excellent on the ranch and the adjoining public land. Located in a draw-only GMU 58, the ranch gets four Landowner Preference (LOP) Draw applications per species. The owners may also participate in the public draw for additional tags.

Two small creeks feed a pond in the meadow portion of the ranch, an ideal location to graze a few cattle or horses. The ranch is strategically located an hour and fifteen± minutes from Breckenridge, 30± minutes to gold medal flyfishing on either the South Platte or Arkansas River, and 45± minutes to either Cripple Creek, Canyon City, or Woodland Park. The Colorado Springs airport is 90± minutes from the ranch gate.
