The Ashley National Forest  has 1,287,909  Utah acres and is minutes away for a combination of varied outdoor activities. The area is known for it’s hiking, trail bike trails, ATV and UTV riding with competitive dirt bike courses  and excellent big game hunting for elk , deer, bear, and mountain lion.

Region & Climate

Dry Fork Canyon Property is 20 minutes from Vernal Utah. This community of over 10,000 residents has the amenities of a county  seat community, including a top 100 small community hospital, grocery shopping with many choices, excellent schools, a Utah State Extension campus, a great vocational school, a shopping center featuring national name brand outlets, fast food options and a variety of  dine in restaurants. The Vernal Regional airport offers commercial daily regional jet service flights. Regional offices of the Division Of Wildlife , the Bureau of Land Management and the National Forest Service are all located in Vernal.
The Vernal area summer months have highs in the  in the high 80’s and low 90’s with very low humidity. The fall is crisp and transitional with daytime highs in the 60’s and 70’s. The winter months are often snowy with daytime temperatures averaging in the 30’s to low 40’s
Spring sees gradual warming with temperatures from the 50’s to the 70’s in May.

History

The dry fork settlement was founded in 1878 and features incredible ancient history and archaeological significance. Hundreds of striking petroglyphs carved and painted by the Fremont culture between 500 and 1300 AD are displayed at the McConkie Ranch just minutes away from the property.
